What's in the preset

Loading the preset in Vital

Download the .vital file, then drag it onto Vital's window, or open Vital's preset browser and use Import. It works in the free version of Vital (1.0 and later), in any DAW. The preview here is a quick browser sketch of the same settings; the real thing in Vital sounds much richer.

Each preset comes with two macros set up: Macro 1 (Brightness) opens the filter, and Macro 2 (Space) adds reverb and delay. Automate them through a build-up for an instant filter sweep.

How the sounds are built

Supersaw lead: two saw oscillators with up to 16 unison voices each, one an octave up, through a gentle 12 dB low-pass, with ping-pong delay at a dotted 8th. Pluck: a few detuned saws through a filter that snaps shut with a fast envelope. Pad: slow-attack supersaws with chorus and a long reverb. Trancegate: a sustained supersaw chopped by a tempo-synced LFO drawn from the gate pattern you pick. Rolling bass: one mono saw with a short filter envelope and a sub an octave down.

Questions

Is Vital free?

Yes. Vital's basic version is free from vital.audio and has every feature these presets use.

The gate doesn't move. Why?

The gate LFO follows your DAW's transport, so press play in the DAW rather than just holding a key. If it still doesn't move, check LFO 1 is set to Sync in Vital.

Can I share or sell the presets?

They're yours: use them in your music, tweak them, share them. Please don't sell them as a pack as they come.

Does it make Serum presets too?

Not yet. Serum's preset format is closed, but the Supersaw Calculator gives matching settings for Serum, Sylenth1 and Spire.
