Small tools for a big sound

Trance Tools is a set of free browser utilities for people who make trance. Each tool does one job you'd otherwise stop and look up mid-session: finding chords that lift, working out delay times, tuning a kick.

Trance Tools is made in the UK by a lifelong EDM fan. I've loved electronic music since the 90s, and trance most of all: nothing else has quite the same positive, euphoric energy. I still listen to all the great tracks being produced today, and in 2025 I appeared on A State of Trance with my daughter.

I make music too, though not as often as I'd like. Every time I sat down to write, I'd get stuck working out chords or delay times instead of making something. So I built the tools I wanted: quick, free and fun to play with. I hope they spark an idea and get you making music.

Why it's free

The tools cost almost nothing to run, so there's no reason to charge for them. The site is funded by affiliate links on the synths page and elsewhere: if you buy something through them, the shop pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. More on that.
