How to use the Studio
The Studio puts every Trance Tools generator in one place: chords, a supersaw lead melody, a bassline, an arp, a trancegate and a kick, all sharing one key, one tempo and one progression, so every part fits together.
Spark an idea. Press the pink button (or the S key) for a complete loop. Mood leans the chords from dark to euphoric; energy decides how busy the bass, arp and gate are.
Keep what you like. Each lane has a lock. Locked lanes stay as they are the next time you spark, so you can keep a progression you love and keep rolling basslines over it. The arrow button re-rolls just that lane.
Shape it in the rack. Click a lane to open its device. The hook chain runs Chords, the Lead melody, its Supersaw sound (which the Chords and Gate lanes share), the Arp and the Gate; the low-end chain holds the Bass and Kick. The footers give you the numbers you'd normally look up: delay times at your tempo, your kick's tuning and how fast your supersaw beats.
Export. The zip has a MIDI file for each part, a full loop with every part on its own track, and a text sheet of the chords and settings. Drop them into Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Cubase or Bitwig.
Prefer one job at a time? The single tools are still here: the Chord Lab, Bassline Generator, Arp Generator, Gate Builder and the rest of the tools.
Questions
Is the Studio free?
Yes. There's no account and no paywall, and the MIDI you export is yours to use in released music.
Where are my ideas saved?
In your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them, so export anything you want to keep.
Why does it sound basic in the browser?
The browser plays simple synths so you can judge the notes and rhythm. Load the exported MIDI onto proper supersaws, plucks and basses in your DAW and the same idea will sound like a record.
Can I use my own chords?
Yes. Pick any four chords in the Chords device, or build a progression in the Chord Lab: the Studio offers your last Chord Lab progression the first time you open it.
